Have you ever pretended to play a musical instrument on an inanimate object? C’mon now, don’t lie… we know that you most certainly have. As nonsensical as that action may be, it somehow makes more sense than the fever dream that is the video for ‘J Terrapin’. The track comes from Jade Hairpins, aka buddies Jonah Falco and Mike Haliechuk, who’ll be familiar to fans of the band Fucked Up. We love the hyperactivity of this track, assuming Jonah and Mike had far too much sugar while writing lines like “Do not say harlequin. / Nor is it terrapin. / I hate the theremin.” These lines shoot like verbal adrenaline through the Brit-rock energy and punk carelessness that will please the ears of fans of Fontaines D.C. or Shame.
